The dairy industry has many challenges — from over regulation and under compensation, to increasing costs of feed and maintenance.
First let’s address regulation and compliance. Dairies are being held accountable for everything from air pollution to nitrates leaching into the ground water. Traditional mechanical technologies do little to reduce the gases produced from dairy waste and nothing to reduce the nitrates in the lagoon waters. Managing these waste areas mechanically is very expensive.
Sustainable Technologies
The push to be green and to develop sustainable technologies for the future has never been greater. But first and foremost these technologies must be affordable, or better yet, reduce operating costs.
Maintenance and Compliance
We can reduce the ammonia and hydrogen sulfide odors being released from dairy lagoons. We reduce the nitrates in the water used for irrigation of silage, reducing the liability of leaching into the ground water. We reduce the sludge buildup on the bottom of lagoons — reducing the cost associated with removal and saving wear and tear on equipment and reduce the manpower needed to manage this problem.
Biological Enhancement
With over 30 years of history and success we can provide your business with a long-term solution at a fraction of the cost you are paying now — and keep your facility compliant with the latest rules and regulations.

Milking 2,500 head — Feeding an additional 2,000 head
Two ten-million gallon lagoons recirculate through feeding area wash lanes. This dairy had a buildup of sludge in the bottom of the lagoons in addition to a buildup of waste materials on the lanes. The original treatment proposal included treating one lagoon to determine effectiveness of Microb-Lift products. Initial treatments started on June 8, 2012. The visual results were striking, and additional benefits felt over the first three months included a reduction in odors, diminished fly population, and ease of pumping without the need for agitation.
After seeing the results and reviewing the nominal maintenance cost, the owners have elected to add the second lagoon to the treatment schedule and continue the program.
